Peninsula EMDR

At Peninsula EMDR, we provide compassionate online therapy for adults seeking meaningful, lasting change. We understand that life’s challenges can leave people feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or exhausted. Through EMDR and other evidence-based therapies, we help adults process painful memories, trauma, and difficult life experiences so they no longer hold the same emotional intensity — creating space for healing, growth, and lasting change.

Our approach is warm, evidence-based, and tailored to your individual needs. Alongside EMDR therapy, we integrate therapies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema Therapy to support clients experiencing anxiety, trauma, stress, low self-worth, and life transitions.

Through secure online sessions, Peninsula EMDR offers accessible, thoughtful therapy for adults across Australia — helping you move beyond survival and toward a life that feels more grounded, connected, and aligned with who you want to be.

The Process

How EMDR Helps

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a supportive therapy that helps your brain unlock its natural ability to heal.

When we experience trauma or high stress, memories can get stuck, making us feel anxious or triggered today. Using gentle, guided techniques like eye movements, EMDR helps your system 'file' these memories away correctly. This reduces their emotional charge, so they feel like part of the distant past. Throughout the process, we work side-by-side, ensuring you stay grounded and supported every step of the way.

Curious about the process?

How do we begin?

Before we begin processing any memories, we focus on preparation. This means building a 'toolbox' of calming strategies so you always feel safe and steady. We move forward only when you are ready, making sure our work never exceeds what you feel comfortable managing.

What happens in a session?

Working together via telehealth, we use structured but gentle focus to help your brain re-file difficult moments. It is similar to clearing a mental 'logjam,' allowing your thoughts and emotions to flow more freely so you can find relief from anxiety and heavy patterns.

Is EMDR right for me?

If you are struggling with old memories, persistent worry, or feeling like you cannot move forward, EMDR can be a beautiful way to find clarity. We will have an open conversation first to see if this feels like the right fit for your unique needs and personal goals.

How does online therapy feel?

Online therapy allows you to receive expert care from the comfort of your own home. We use secure, easy-to-use platforms and tailored tools to create a deep, professional connection that feels just as supportive as an in-person session, no matter where you are in Australia.

How long is the journey?

Every person's experience with healing is different. There is no rush and no set deadline; we regularly review our progress together to ensure the therapy remains helpful, respectful of your energy, and perfectly aligned with your individual recovery pace.
